AUX and Man City: A New Playbook for Chinese Appliances Going Global

In August 2026, Chinese home appliance maker AUX signed a global strategic partnership with Premier League club Manchester City—a move that signals a broader transition in the sector: Chinese appliance brands are moving beyond cost-driven exports and embracing brand-powered, technology-led globalization.

For years, AUX has ranked among the world's top three in residential split-system air conditioner sales (2018–2024, per Frost & Sullivan), covering over 160 markets. But scale alone did not build brand equity. Reliance on OEM and low-price entry strategies left AUX with weak brand recognition overseas, limited pricing power, and constrained R&D budgets.

The Manchester City alliance changes that equation. With hundreds of millions of global fans and a media footprint across Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, the club offers AUX a powerful platform to elevate brand perception, strengthen negotiations with premium distributors, and break into high-end retail channels.

Yet the partnership is about more than visibility. AUX is backing it with deep technological and localized efforts:

  • For the Middle East – sixth-generation inverter technology to combat high-temperature performance loss in sandy, dusty climates, tailored for luxury villas.

  • For Europe – high-capacity heat pump systems designed to meet strict energy-efficiency standards.

  • For smart home integration – the flagship i9 Air Butler, with L4 whole-unit intelligence and L5 voice recognition, using AI to cut energy use by up to 48%.

All smart models are self-developed and self-manufactured, ensuring AUX competes on performance, not price.

The company plans to weave Manchester City IP into global trade shows (including IFA Germany), digital campaigns, and in-store experiences, while rolling out 48-hour parts delivery and extended warranties in key overseas markets—closing the loop between product, promotion, and service.

As Chinese home appliance exports enter a more challenging phase—buffeted by trade policy uncertainty, local competition, and rising consumer expectations—the playbook is shifting. AUX's approach exemplifies the new formula: technology as the foundation, brand as the differentiator, and localized execution as the bridge. The goal is no longer just to ship products abroad, but to export Chinese AI-powered technology and brand value to the world.
