China’s home appliance exports maintained strong growth momentum in 2025, driven by global demand for smart, energy-saving products and the accelerated expansion of Chinese brands in overseas markets, according to recent customs data. Total export value of home appliances reached $286 billion in 2025, up 8.3% year-on-year, with smart appliances and energy-efficient models accounting for more than 45% of total exports.
Air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and small kitchen appliances remained the most popular categories, with strong demand from Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Smart connected appliances, including AI-powered air conditioners, robotic vacuum cleaners, and IoT-enabled kitchen devices, saw export growth of over 22%, as global consumers increasingly prioritize convenience, automation, and energy savings. Many Chinese manufacturers have upgraded their product lines with advanced technologies such as inverter compressors, AI sensors, and low-power consumption designs to meet stricter international energy efficiency standards and consumer expectations.
Industry analysts noted that the growth also reflects the improving global competitiveness of Chinese home appliance brands, which have expanded their research and development, marketing, and after-sales networks abroad. Major manufacturers including Midea, Haier, and Gree have established production bases and research centers in multiple countries, enabling them to better adapt to regional market needs and reduce logistics costs. The ongoing global trend of home upgrading and replacement demand, combined with government support for high-quality manufacturing, is expected to sustain steady growth in China’s home appliance exports in 2026.
