Las Vegas, USA – At CES 2026, the world’s largest tech trade show, global home appliance and robotics companies unveiled a wave of smart, labor-saving devices designed to fully automate daily household tasks, marking a new era of hands-free living. The show’s focus on “liberating household labor” has drawn massive attention from consumers and industry experts alike, with robots and AI-powered appliances taking center stage.
Chinese robotics firm SwitchBot introduced Onero H1, a humanoid home robot with dual arms that can grasp, push, open, and organize objects; it can fill a coffee maker, prepare breakfast, clean windows, and hang laundry, using cameras across its body to map its environment and adapt to different home layouts. LG Electronics showcased CLOiD, a compact home robot capable of loading laundry into a washing machine and folding towels, combining advanced situational recognition, habit learning, and precise finger control to handle delicate tasks. GE Appliances presented a smart refrigerator with an internal AI camera that identifies food items, tracks expiration dates, and suggests recipes based on available ingredients, while also syncing with smart ovens to preheat and set cooking times automatically.
Samsung expanded its Bespoke AI lineup with voice-controlled appliances that use Bixby to recognize multiple family members and deliver personalized experiences—for example, the Family Hub refrigerator displays individual schedules and preferences, and the smart range adjusts cooking modes based on voice commands and recipe data. Many new models also feature enhanced energy efficiency and connectivity, with app-based remote control and real-time energy monitoring to help households reduce waste.
Industry analysts say the shift toward fully automated home solutions reflects growing consumer demand for convenience, especially among busy urban families. With major brands pouring billions into R&D for home robotics and AI integration, the market for smart, labor-saving appliances is projected to grow by 15% annually through 2030. Most of the devices unveiled at CES 2026 are expected to hit retail shelves in North America, Europe, and Asia by the end of 2026, with prices starting at $999 for entry-level robots and $1,299 for premium AI appliances.
