Xiaomi Expands Smart Home Appliance Ecosystem with Affordable, Connected New Models

Beijing, January 18, 2026 – Xiaomi Corporation has unveiled a new batch of smart home appliances, expanding its interconnected ecosystem with a focus on affordability and seamless cross-device connectivity, aiming to make smart living accessible to more households across global markets. The new lineup covers essential kitchen and household appliances, including a compact smart refrigerator, a high-efficiency variable-frequency washing machine, a low-noise air purifier and a smart induction cooktop, all integrated into Xiaomi’s Mi Home platform for one-click control and intelligent linkage.

The new 216L smart compact refrigerator is designed for small apartments and rental households, featuring a dual-temperature zone design and a built-in smart sensor that monitors internal temperature and humidity in real time, sending alerts to users’ mobile phones if there are abnormal changes. It also connects with Xiaomi’s smart food scale and recipe app, automatically suggesting ingredient storage tips based on the food users add, and even linking with the smart induction cooktop to pre-set cooking modes for matching recipes. The variable-frequency washing machine, available in 8kg and 10kg capacities, uses a new low-power motor that cuts energy consumption by 22% compared to traditional models, and it supports AI water level adjustment, which detects the weight of laundry and optimizes water usage to avoid waste. The machine also links with Xiaomi’s smart weather station, automatically switching to a faster drying mode if high humidity is predicted in the coming hours, ensuring clothes are dry and fresh.

All the new appliances support voice control via Xiaomi’s AI speaker, allowing users to adjust settings, start or pause operations with simple voice commands, and they can also be linked with other smart devices in the Mi Home ecosystem for customized scenarios. For example, when the smart door lock detects a user returning home, the air purifier can automatically turn on, the refrigerator can unlock its smart display, and the induction cooktop can preheat to a set temperature if a cooking schedule is set in the app. Xiaomi stated that all new models are priced at the mid-to-entry level of the market, with the starting price of the smart refrigerator at 999 yuan and the washing machine at 899 yuan, keeping in line with the brand’s consistent positioning of high cost performance.

Lin Bin, co-founder and president of Xiaomi, said in a release that the expansion of the smart home appliance ecosystem is a key step for the brand to build a full-scenario smart living experience, and the core of this launch is to balance technological functionality with affordability. He added that Xiaomi has optimized the supply chain and production process to reduce costs while ensuring product quality and smart features, and the brand plans to launch more interconnected home appliances in the first half of 2026, covering small kitchen appliances such as smart kettles and toasters to enrich the ecosystem. Market data shows that Xiaomi’s smart home appliance business has seen steady growth in 2025, with its market share in China’s smart small home appliance sector rising to 18.5%, and the brand is accelerating its layout in Southeast Asia and Europe, where the new lineup will be launched sequentially in the next three months.
