Xinhua News Agency, Berlin, September 9 - Journalist's Note | 'Smart Partners' Gather at the International Electronics Exhibition

The 2025 Berlin International Consumer Electronics Show took place from September 5 to 9 in Berlin, Germany. Home appliance companies such as Haier, Hisense, Bosch, and Siemens showcased the latest generation of devices that can 'understand human language'.

For instance, if you tell the washing machine, 'Help me with this coffee - stained clothing,' it can recognize the type of stain, automatically match the washing program, and complete the operation; when ingredients are placed in the oven, a built - in camera can identify the type of food and recommend a cooking method, and with a simple confirmation from the user, the entire dish can be automatically prepared; by tapping the refrigerator, the door will automatically open, and the screen will visually display the freshness status of the ingredients. The once tedious household chores are now gradually being taken over by AI, assisting in completion.

'We hope AI is no longer just an additional feature but is fully integrated into the product's DNA, becoming a'smart partner' for humanity,' said Sun Li, Chief Technology Officer of TCL Industries, in an interview with Xinhua reporters. In the field of home appliances, AI technology will bring significant changes in areas such as image recognition and natural language processing.

A courtyard care robot exhibited by the MOVA brand Neoslaw attracted many viewers. This machine looks like a mini engineering vehicle but is, in fact, a 'jack of all trades': equipped with a perception system, it can distinguish the edges of the lawn from obstacles; when its telescopic mechanical arm extends, tasks like trimming, weeding, picking up leaves, and even greeting pets are all within its capabilities.

In the past, smart devices mostly solved single issues, but today's trend is to use AI perception and algorithmic decision - making, enabling devices to actively understand the environment and interact with users. Li Jian, Chief Product Officer of Neoslaw, said in an interview with Xinhua reporters, 'Consumers will gradually delegate tedious and repetitive household and courtyard care tasks to robots, allowing them more time to enjoy life, spend time with family, or connect with nature.'
